Big Walleye close to State Record

This big walleye you see in the picture just missed the Ohio state record.

The big walleye was caught out of Sandusky Bay and weighed 16.13 pounds.

The fish just missed the record by .06 pounds, the Ohio state record was set by Tom "Blacky" Haberman with his 16.19 pound walleye.

Phillip J. "Monk" Francyke and Tracy W. Golgin of Spring Valley, Illinois caught this big walleye.

The lucky lure was a Vib "E" modified with a single hook to meet Ohio spring walleye fishing regulations.

I congratulate both of them for such a big walleye, maybe next year they'll catch an even bigger walleye and beat the record.
